ON THE INSIDE WITH TINA BARRY

Vogue Bambini Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Show: Let It Bloom

ENK Children's Club and Vogue Bambini presented "Garden Style" another short yet sweet runway show on October 4, 2009. In keeping with the title, budding models traipsed the kittenwalk wearing springwear loosely tied to the garden theme. There were lots of green, floral prints, tulle, and white pieces, all cut with comfort in mind. To underscore the organic, earth-centric subject, models paired their outfits with plastic boots, sneakers or flower-printed clogs. Below are several of the participating manufacturers.

Bonnie Young kicked the show off with a glamorous cotton voile tunic that moved beautifully, worn with loose cotton broadcloth pants.

Pimalinda's grass green cotton knit dress served as a literal interpretation of the season.

Seedling Kids simple white tee with flowers and comfy green knit pants are meant for an easy day of play. The dress with unusual cord details in front looks fresh as a daisy over fuchsia leggings.

Blue sky, nasturtiums and a bouquet of just-bloomed tulips inform designer Uli Belenky of Zutano's spring pieces.

It's robots for spring and every season. The popular motif is a favorite at SnoPea. So are lime green, layers and plenty of print.

Kids won't care that UV Skinz garments offer UV 50+ protection. They'll just dig the tie-dyed top and cool purple Popsicle print in the season's hottest purple shades.

Tutto Piccolo does white right with a crisp tuxedo shirt paired with an ephemeral tulle skirt. The snazzy boy's outfit mixes classic shapes with the surprise of a funky tie.

Flower power lives on in Lemon Loves Lime's exuberant T-shirt and scalloped mini.

Dew Drops Couture by Daphne's frothy white dress is as delicate as Queen Anne's Lace.

The well heeled from Heelys.

Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, usually the brightest of collections, finds inspiration in the quiet side of spring.

They may be basic, but the vivid colors and easy shapes of Buzz Basics' cotton pieces add up to a lot of style.

Mini-me Gordon Ramsey looks (almost) happy wearing Diesel's shiny bomber jacket.

Baby Phat proves that pink always looks fresh.

The greening of the runway.

Finale.
