Appaman
Launches First Wear Art Capsule
Collection
(New York; February 11,
2009) Appaman
is mixing it up this season and introducing the first of
many "wearable art capsule collections". The collections
will feature artists from all over the world. The first
to launch is AvONE, a talented graffiti artist whose work
can be seen all over NYC.
When Harald Husum started Appaman
the trained graphic artist wanted to share his love of
American pop iconic imagery and used the tee shirt as his
canvas. With the huge success of Appaman, Harald thought
that the tees would make a great canvas for other
artist's to share their passion.
Paying homage to New York City, a
city synonymous with the graffiti art movement, Appaman
teamed up with AvONE because they saw it as a natural fit
and a great way to launch the "capsule collection"
series. AvONE and Husum, met one afternoon while Harald
was scooping out artwork on the streets of SoHo. Husum
was drawn to the AvONE's tagged artwork inspired by his
Brooklyn hometown and the industrial architecture that
surrounds him. The two men immediately bonded
artistically and began to talk of collaboration.
"I actually used to work with and
love children so meeting Harald was full circle for me. I
love the idea of using Appaman clothing as a way to
express my art. There is a freshness and beauty that only
kids can convey." -AvONE

Each piece in the collection has
iconic imagery photographed by AvONE and is tagged with
his signature. AvONE and Appaman produced a four piece
capsule collection for boys consisting of three long
sleeve tees (SRP $32) and a hoodie (SRP $52).

Appaman an inspired children's
clothing collection out of Brooklyn, New York. The line
