Finally! Boyswear with Personality at Stakwear

(Surrey, BC; December 10, 2003) Stakwear Clothing Inc. (www.shortstak.com) proudly announces its debut collection named Shortstak, featuring unique semi-formal urban clothing for boys in the 4 -7 age category. It's a unique look that dares to be neither casual nor formal.

Take a look around. In one word you can easily summarize the boyswear market - blah! Smaller labels are overly "babyish" and lack any sense of fashion for the boys of today. As for the big brand names, well, they seem to be slapping their logo onto anything less than exciting and these clothes cannot be worn any further than the playground. The bottom line is that everyone is tired of seeing the same things over and over again. Shortstak attempts to revolutionize this market, catering to the boys who crave self-expression.

Designer Adila Cokar has worked in the childrenswear industry for over five years. Over the years, she has learned but two important facts. Firstly, a large percentage of parents, buyers and especially the boys are demanding unique boys clothing. For this reason, each style in the Shortstak collection undergoes a heavy screening process through a handful of parents and the boys, before it is adopted into a line. Secondly, purchasing decisions are based on five main ingredients - style, price, quality, brand name and most importantly the child's opinion. If you've heard the word kidsfluence, you probably already know that kids as "short" as 2 years old determine what they will wear. Older siblings and the media, also, play a big role in their decisions. They can tell you what is "hot," they have a personality ready to hatch. Questionnaires, focus groups, surveys and even more research have led to Shortstaks' niche - boyswear with personality.

The Shortstak collection features 24 unique, trend setting styles in tops, pants, shorts, vests and jackets. The bottoms have been engineered with an adjustable inner waistband, as well as an adjustable hem to accommodate these growing kids. The boys appreciate these "hidden" baby features and rave about the styles. Unexpected touches create products as distinctive as they are unique. Largely influenced by European menswear, details include appliqués, screen-prints, embroidery, badges, pin pleats as well as inspirations from tribal art. The urban cowboy shirt, military inspired fleece lined jacket and tuxedo pant with an attached belt are just a few key items. It's all about providing boys with what is hot and unique, as well as providing comfort and quality. As revolutionary as it is in concept as it is in design, Shortstak strives to balance trends, quality, price and brand name for boys with personality. Finally, boys' clothes that are unique!
