Skylar
Children's Clothing Launches with Fall 2010
Collection
(Los Angeles, CA; March 1,
2010) Zen philosophy may seem a little sophisticated
for the average toddler, but it is precisely where
Skylar
Clothing
founder Wen Reese found the
inspiration for her new children's line. Inspired by the
positive energy principles surrounding Zen, Reese created
Skylar Clothing to offers boys and girls, ages 2 to 6
years old, imaginative playwear that puts them - not
their clothing - front and center. Featuring everyday
coordinates in high quality, versatile fabrics, Skylar
Clothing launches its Fall 2010 Collection at ENK's
Children's Club in New York March 7-9, 2010.

Reese believes people will find
Skylar's silhouettes reminiscent of yoga wear and
encourages them to make the connection. "When you think
about it, kids are always moving - bending and flexing,"
explains Reese, who is also the mother of two young boys.
"My kids are constantly in motion. I wanted to make
stylish clothing that moves with them." The daughter of
an apparel and textile manufacturer, Reese is fortunate
to have the opportunity to develop Skylar's lush fabrics
and produce her line in factories her family has operated
for over four decades.

Reese thinks what ultimately
differentiates Skylar from its contemporary competitors
are its fabrics and wholesale price point, which ranges
from $12 to $30 for basics and $39 for the Pea Coat with
detachable hood. "While pieces in the line are marked
with creative graphics of positive Zen symbols, at the
end of the day we want every Skylar piece to literally
feel good," Reese explains. Her favorite fabric for fall
is super-soft bamboo cotton she's used for select styles.
Reese hopes Skylar's signature "Bamboo Sky" fabric, which
originates from natural bamboo, will make people think of
environmentally-conscious fabrics in a whole new way.

Skylar Clothing's debut collection
for girls includes blousy graphic tees, tunics, sweaters,
thermals, dresses, pants and leggings in a rainbow of
colors including Coral, Light Coral, Fire, Sky, Lilac and
Natural. The boys' line features long sleeve graphic
tees, thermals, polos and pants accented with artfully
placed graphics and textured prints in a palette of
Emerald, Sky, Fire, Midnight, Stone, and Natural.

Skylar Clothing Founder &
President Wen C. Reese is a former risk consultant who
re-invented her life in 2007 by jumping the corporate
ship and joining a long family line of textile and
apparel entrepreneurs. Inspired by the vibrant, feel-good
energy and limitless potential of children everywhere,
Reese developed Skylar Clothing with inspiration from her
biggest teachers, her two sons Jackson and Mac, who
continue to drive her inspiration and purpose. With the
corporate philosophy of "Capitalism with Responsibility,"
Reese has committed a percentage of Skylar proceeds to
BookEnds. Founded by an 8-year-old boy in 1998, BookEnds'
recycles children's books through student-run book drives
and places them in schools and youth organizations in
need of books.
