Leggings Launches; New Girls' Product Pairs Style and
Safety
(Seattle, WA; September 23,
2009) Wendy Feller, veteran entrepreneur and knitwear
designer today announced the launch of Züpers,
contemporary leggings reinforced with removable
heart-shaped knee pads for active, hip girls. The
leggings, which include a small treasure pocket, are made
of super-strong, moisture wicking and quick drying fabric
and are UV-coated for sun-resistance.
"I was inspired to create
Züpers by my daughter and her friends," Feller said.
"They are very feminine and love to wear dresses, and at
the same time love to run, jump and play, resulting in
lots of torn tights and skinned knees. With neoprene
padding, tough fabric and fun patterns, Züpers
please style-conscious girls and safety-conscious
parents. They are also multi-purpose, meaning kids can
even swim in them due to their UV and quick dry
feature."
Züpers are available in solids
- black, brown, pink and light blue with contrast
stitching and in 9 prints - brown giraffe, b/w zebra,
brown leopard, two multi-colored florals, pink tie-dye ,
brown/white polkadots, mod squares, and denim. They are
sized 6 mo.- 6x, feature removable heart-shaped kneepads
and treasure pockets. The fabric is a soft and durable
blend of 90% micropolyester and 10% Lycra which is
fast-drying and machine washable. Suggested retail price
for Züpers are from $34 - $36. They're available for
sale now at www.zupergirls.com
and at fine children's retailers. Orders ship by late
October.
Züpers are represented by
sales reps in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Chicago
(see "wholesale inquiries" on the website for contact
information).
Züpers are the latest
entrepreneurial effort from Seattle mom and clothing
designer, Wendy Feller. She started her career with Wendy
Feller Knitwear in New York, where her sweater designs
were sold by Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Bendels,
Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue among many
other. After moving to Seattle in 1994, Feller developed
Smittens, handholding mittens for friends and
lovers, which retail through Restoration Hardware, Red
Envelope and Uncommon Goods catalogs. Smittens were also
selected for Target's Red Hot Shop.
