Ooh!
La, La! Couture, Teen Celebrities, and Hundreds of Girls
Make "Tutus 4 Tots" a Huge Success
(Pasadena, CA; December 15,
2009) Cold weather, flooded freeways, and pouring
rain didn't stop families, kids, and young Hollywood
celebrities from attending the first annual "Tutus 4
Tots" at Farnsworth Park in Altadena. Held in
collaboration with Toys for Tots and Family 1st, Tutus 4
Tots' mission was to provide a beautiful dress to
hundreds of underprivileged girls for the holidays,
courtesy of Ooh!
La, La! Couture.
The morning began with the U.S.
Marines and their annual Toys for Tots toy distribution.
Headed by Gunnery Sgt. James Baskin, piles of toys were
distributed by uniformed Marines to hundreds of kids,
eager to receive them. To their surprise, in addition to
receiving a toy, all girl recipients also received a
special wristband and were asked to stay for a very
special treat.
The girls were escorted to the main
auditorium filled with endless racks of beautiful Ooh!
La, La Couture dresses in every color & style
imaginable. As an added surprise, tween and teen
celebrities clad in Ooh! La, La Couture fashion, were
waiting to be celebrity mentors to the girls. In
attendance were: Ana Maria Perez De Tagle (FAME, Camp
Rock 1 and 2), Emily Grace Reaves (Hannah Montana: The
Movie, The Noie & Ems Show), Madison De La Garza
(Desperate Housewives), recently crowned 2010 Miss
California USA Nicole Johnson, Madison Beaty (Curious
Case of Benjamin Button), Allisyn Arm (Sonny with a
Chance), Keana Texeira (Soulstice), Tachina Arnold
(Everybody Hates Chris), Kristy Flores (FAME), Bella
Thorne (HBO's Big Love, Forget Me Not), B-Girl Shorty
(Camp Rock 2), Daniella Baltodano (Desperate Housewives),
Teen Pop Duo Miss Lolitas, and many others.
The girls each received a pink
shopper bag filled with fun and trendy gifts, and holiday
essentials: Pink Pewter headbands, LipSmacker, Estee
Lauder C-Thru Perfume, Hi-Chew by Morinaga, Cookie Dough
Bites, Urban Decay Hard Candy, Emi-Jay hair ties,
Amethyst Jeans tote, Kooky pens, Mel Lim Joy notepads,
and gift certificates from Totally Texty.
Celebrity mentors took each girl by
the hand, patiently guiding them through a sea of
selections; helping them pick the perfect Ooh! La, La!
Couture dress in their favorite style and size. Hannah
Montana Movie's Emily Grace Reaves helped 5-year old Ella
Dowling pick a beautiful sage green dress with matching
jacket; while 7-year old Emily Aguilar picked out a
similar style in pink with the help of "Soulstice" star,
Keana Texeira.
After dress selections were made,
celebrities mingled with the kids, signing autographs,
and posing for pictures on the Ooh! La, La! Couture Pink
Carpet. Tutus Ice Cream Shack was also on premise and
handed out over 300 cups of delicious Hawaiian Shaved
Ice.
"I saw hundreds of smiles from
these little girls today because now they have a dress
for Christmas", says Tutus 4 Tots organizer, Terri Tex of
T2PR. "It made me want to cry. This event truly brings
out the spirit of the holidays and was made possible by
the kindness and generosity of Jen & Annie, owners of
Ooh! La, La! Couture".
"We would like to explore the
possibility of making Tutus 4 Tots an annual event," says
Gunnery Sgt. James Baskin, head of Toys for Tots, Los
Angeles. "possibly expanding it's affiliation with Toys
for Tots on a national level", he adds.
