Industries Under New Ownership
(Albuquerque, NM; September 24,
2009) Kiwi
Industries,
Albuquerque-based manufacturer of children's clothing,
was purchased by Faith Begay-Holtrop and Laura McIndoo.
Kiwi Industries plans to continue designing and
manufacturing organic children's clothing in an
environmentally and socially responsible
manner.
The previous owner and founder of
Kiwi Industries, Rebecca Grebosky, said, "I am thrilled
about this transition. I feel that Faith and Laura
understand the design and overall strategies of Kiwi and
am confident they will take the company to the next
level."
McIndoo will lead design and
production, and Begay-Holtrop will lead sales, marketing
and operations. The team includes a strong customer
service and sale team.
Laura McIndoo, Kiwi's new owner and
designer for the last 3 years says, "Faith and I are
excited and committed to continuing the Kiwi brand in the
spirit it has been for the last 6 years." As a key
designer for Kiwi the last 3 years, McIndoo has been
instrumental in the "classic with a modern twist" look
and feel of Kiwi's style, and understands how it fits
into the context of the larger children's clothing
market.
Begay-Holtrop, a small retailer
business owner, knows first hand the needs and struggles
of the retailers in this market and economy and hopes to
incorporate essential strategies to ensure success for
Kiwi and its retailers, which includes boutiques,
catalogs and websites.
"We have a phenomenal sales and
operations team, and everyone is upbeat and ready to move
forward with our new collection," says
Begay-Holtrop.
Kiwi Industries is an infant and
children's clothing and gift manufacturing company with a
socially and environmentally minded perspective. All
garments are produced in a living wage environment using
organic fibers and manufactured primarily in the USA.
Their organic cotton sweaters are knit in a woman's
cooperative in South America. Kiwi Industries makes every
